How Do I Use the OpenZoom SDK with Flex?
The image names and their coordinates are available in the database. Some descriptions along with the coordinates are also there. How can you utilize this SDk with Flex to make an online map tool?.

Thanks for the link. I looked at them and since iam a newbie, I understand only a bit of it. Iam using the component flex-multiscaleimage-component written by you (it is very nice by the way!). It works with the image tiles I made from zoomify. Your component can be used to retrieve and show descriptions on areas of images too?. -

Sure, since the scene of the MultiScaleImage component is basically just a Sprite you can place most of Flash's DisplayObjects on it – TextField, Loader (loaded SWF, JPEG, PNG), Shape, Video, etc.

Iam a noob and just could not get the examples working in my machine. From the google code, I downloaded the mxml and tried to compile it in flex. It always showed some error even though I had openzoom and other .swc files in the libs folder. I hav e no idea why it is not working. Overlay extension is very cool. Hotspots are exactly what iam looking for. They have made it with flash it seems. Can you please say how to add hotspots to your file GallerySample.mxml?.

If you're having trouble with the fundamentals in programming ActionScript & Flex I suggest you to have a look at the documentation from Adobe

and/or find help in the many excellent Flash/Flex forums on the web.
