Property for Photoshop-like Zoom Level
I had the idea a while back, but haven't gotten around to implementing it yet. It's related to the "How to know when i reached 1:1 Scale or 100% zoom" questions.
If there was a getter (and possibly setter) for a photoshop-style zoomlevel, many of those questions were a lot easier. I think this kind of zoom is well-understood already and in some cases exactly what you need.

Inappropriate?Claudius,
Thanks for your suggestion. I'm also interested in simplifying things for the end-user but could you please elaborate a bit more about what you'd like to see implemented?
From my understanding of what you wrote, the scale property of IViewport seems to fulfill your needs. It basically corresponds to the Photoshop zoom indicator, where scale = 1 <==> zoom = 100%.
Am I missing something?
Cheers,
Daniel

Damn, I know what I've missed. The scale value obviously corresponds to the scene dimensions which are usually not equal to the image dimensions. You'll have to multiply it by factor scene.sceneWidth / descriptor.width. ;)
